हाइड्रॉक्सीप्रोपाइल मिथाइल सेल्युलोज (एचपीएमसी) एक गैर-आयनिक सेल्युलोज ईथर है जो ईथरीकरण द्वारा प्राकृतिक पॉलिमर सेल्युलोज से बनाया जाता है। यह एक गंधहीन, स्वादहीन और गैर विषैला सफेद पाउडर है जो पानी में फूलकर स्पष्ट या थोड़ा गंदला कोलाइडल घोल बन जाता है। इसमें गाढ़ा करने, फैलाने, पायसीकरण करने, फिल्म बनाने, सतह की गतिविधि को अवशोषित करने, पानी को बनाए रखने, कोलाइड की रक्षा करने आदि की विशेषताएं हैं।

1.Hot-dissolving Type :

जब सूखे पाउडर उत्पादों जैसे पुट्टी पाउडर और सीमेंट मोर्टार में उपयोग किया जाता है, तो तरल पदार्थ और कोटिंग्स में क्लंपिंग घटना होगी। तरल पदार्थ और पेंट में उपयोग के लिए अनुशंसित नहीं है

2.Instant-dissolving Type :

यह ठंडे पानी में तेजी से फैल जाता है, और कुछ मिनटों के बाद चिपचिपाहट बढ़ने लगती है, और चिपचिपाहट धीरे-धीरे बड़ी हो जाती है और तरल पर लागू होती है
