L'idrossipropilmetilcellulosa (HPMC) è un etere di cellulosa non ionico ottenuto da cellulosa polimerica naturale mediante eterificazione. È una polvere bianca inodore, insapore e atossica che si rigonfia in soluzione colloidale chiarificata o leggermente torbida in acqua. Ha le caratteristiche di addensare, disperdere, emulsionare, formare film, assorbire l'attività superficiale, trattenere l'acqua, proteggere il colloide e così via.

1.Hot-dissolving Type :

Se utilizzato in prodotti in polvere secca come mastice in polvere e malta cementizia, si verificherà un fenomeno di aggregazione nei liquidi e nei rivestimenti. Non raccomandato per l'uso in liquidi e vernici

2.Instant-dissolving Type :

Si disperde rapidamente in acqua fredda e la viscosità inizia ad aumentare dopo alcuni minuti e la viscosità diventa gradualmente maggiore e viene applicata al liquido
