হাইড্রক্সিপ্রোপাইল মিথাইল সেলুলোজ (HPMC) হল একটি নন-আয়নিক সেলুলোজ ইথার যা ইথারিফিকেশনের মাধ্যমে প্রাকৃতিক পলিমার সেলুলোজ থেকে তৈরি। এটি একটি গন্ধহীন, স্বাদহীন এবং অ-বিষাক্ত সাদা পাউডার যা পানিতে একটি স্পষ্ট বা সামান্য ঘোলাটে কোলয়েডাল দ্রবণে ফুলে যায়। এটিতে ঘন হওয়া, ছড়িয়ে দেওয়া, ইমালসিফাইং, ফিল্ম গঠন, পৃষ্ঠের কার্যকলাপ শোষণ, জল ধরে রাখা, কলয়েড রক্ষা ইত্যাদি বৈশিষ্ট্য রয়েছে।
